Yesterday's the Fleur + Forage Free Clinic set-up Yesterday's the Fleur + Forage Free Clinic set-up at #lazarushealthday. It was our third year being there and the first year we had many medical students interested in the work we do. Along with our mini Fleur + Forage Apothebox, we brought 20 herbal immune care packs, supplements, herbal tea and did a Fire Cider demo. We just about ran out of everything we brought including the tea and our "where to find us next" cards. We made a ton of connections with people experiencing homelessness looking for more herbal care (yay!). This set-up for me is all about connecting with folks who visit the tent and spreading the word about the work that we do. So people can have free access to herbal remedies, acupuncture, reiki and chair massage as part of their health care journey. 🌹Next week, I will be at the Toesday event on Tuesday and the full set-up will be at Mercy Community Church on Wednesday. 📸 from Katrina and Devyn. #communityherbalism #herbalmedicine #herbalfreeclinic #ittakesavillage #communitysupport #fleurandforagefreeclinic

Self-care items we made: a tulsi and calendula face cream, a skin softening herbal clay mask and a hand sugar scrub. Herbal self care tricks to keep my hands, and sometimes feet happy, as a full time permie gardener, is by tending with some of the items we are making this weekend. The sugar/salt scrub is a favorite as the scrub helps get all the dirt and dead skin off while also moisturizing and reviving my tired hands/feet... This weekend we will be making this plus; face cream, miracle grains mask, as well as sharing a couple of our favorite tricks and having time to enjoy them all at the end of class. Butler (just started) 📙When We Walk By: forgotten humanity, broken systems, and the role we can each play in ending homelessness in America by Kevin Alder and Donald Burnes (READ IT! Seriously). Distilling plants into their hydrosol is one of my Distilling plants into their hydrosol is one of my favorite things to do with friends and share with people. So, I am throwing a distillation party on November 3rd as fundraiser for the Fleur + Forage Free Clinic. Details: 2-5PM at Edgewood Gardens. There will be several copper stills going at once, each distilling a single plant into its hydrosol. Hot herbal teas and spiced desserts will also be served The silent auction will consist of 6 herbal boxes, each representing a body system and containing herbal preparations that we serve monthly at our set-ups. Today we made two different herbal care packs for Today we made two different herbal care packs for two groups: #1 Hug in a Bottle + rose water spritzers for the high school teachers at Appalachee High School (a friend of a Fleur + Forage crew member reached out asking for herbal support). The Hug in a Bottle glycerite is based on David Winston's grief tincture with the addition of ginger. #2 a mix of herbal remedies to support one's body through the changes in season to be distributed at the Lazarus Health Day on Sept 15th. Also, today 2 new apprentices joined me and Mikala.
